- Bodine is Third Driver in Truck Series History to Win Multiple Titles & Clinch Early
- Bodine Owns 21 Truck Series wins with Germain Racing and 36 NASCAR career wins
- He earned his first Nashville victory last year

April 19, 2011 (Mooresville, N.C.) - Nashville Superspeedway is a track where Todd Bodine and Germain Racing have always managed to be contenders. Until last year, they’d remained shut out of victory lane. With their guitar trophy on display at the team headquarters, the No. 30 Germain.com Tundra has nothing more to do this weekend...than try to win again at the concrete oval in Tennessee.

“Nashville is a fun track and, yes, mile and a half tracks are definitely our forte even though we still like short tracks. We know we can go to a mile and a half and win the race.  We need to get going and get caught up in points, so Nashville should be a great place for us to do that with the Germain.com Tundra,” explained Bodine.

The two-time Truck Series champion said that after the years of waiting for a Nashville victory, the return to the track after earning the coveted guitar trophy is still all about the business of winning again.

“I’ve always run well at Nashville and always loved going there, so it’s no different. I still want to win, that’s the reason we go to any race track,” said Bodine.

Winning might also be the reason he signs autographs at hockey games? During the off-weeks between Martinsville and Nashville, Bodine signed autographs at a Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins hockey game. At half time, he raced NASCAR driver Eddie MacDonald on beer coolers, and he won!

“I didn’t cheat! I just bump-drafted him and passed him,” smiled Bodine, who also installed a vinyl fence for his nephew in Florida during his downtime.

Bodine has competed in seven Truck Series events at Nashville and has scored six top-ten finishes, five top-five’s, two pole awards and one win. This Friday he’ll compete in his 170th Truck Series race when he fires up the Germain.com Tundra for the fourth race of the 2011 season. Bodine has 733 NASCAR career starts to date. After four races, Bodine ranks 8th in Truck Series standings, 28 points out of first place.

Watch Bodine in the No. 30 Germain.com Tundra on Friday, April 22nd, at Nashville Superspeedway. The action starts on SPEED with qualifying airing at 5:00 PM ET followed by racing at 8:00 PM—all on SPEED. Can’t get to a television? Tune your radio to your local MRN affiliate.

Bodine and Germain.com Crew Made Most of Martinsville Weekend

Bodine and Germain.com Crew Made Most of Martinsville Weekend

Mooresville, NC (04-04-2011) – Short track victories remain elusive for Germain Racing after another NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race weekend was completed at Martinsville Speedway. Todd Bodine qualified 15th in the No. 30 Germain.com Tundra and finished 14th, on the lead lap, with a Toyota that bore plenty of battle scars to tell the story of a rough and rugged day of half-mile racing.

“We had a good truck for Saturday’s race, but we got into the back of the 5 at the beginning of the race. That contact put the splitter up in the air, messed up cambers and killed the downforce on our Germain.com Tundra. If things had gone the right way, we were a top-five truck,” said Bodine, who finished 14th, on the lead lap, in the Kroger 250.

Bodine credits his team’s work for his respectable result, despite the significant damage to his Toyota Tundra.

“Pit strategy. Pit stops. Hard work by everyone and at times we got lucky. Some times we had better tires than some of the guys. A little of everything went into our finish, but mostly team work from this number 30 Germain Racing team,” said Bodine.

Crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. says the weekend wasn’t a win, but, the team and driver efforts were second to none.

“The guys did a great job on pit road repairing the damage to make the truck the best it could be after being part of three cautions. Todd and the crew did the best they could do with the damage we had to work with. We can’t be too proud of the finish, but, I’m proud of the hard work and never-give-up attitude of this team. We’re ready to go to Nashville,” said Hillman.

The highlight of the day for Hillman was watching Germain Racing’s team performance.

“We had three of our four trucks in the top ten on Saturday. With the way Justin (Lofton) ran in practice and in qualifying, he was going to be good, too. It was awesome to watch our teammates race for the lead, lead laps and to see the strength of Germain Racing,” said Hillman Jr.

Bodine enjoyed watching the youth of the Truck Series competing in the top positions.

“The kids we have in the Truck Series this year are good and they’re going to be good all year. They grew up on short tracks, so I expected them to be tough on Saturday,” said Bodine.

After three of 25 races, Bodine ranks eighth in the Truck Series points standings. Germain Racing and Todd Bodine fire up the No. 30 Tundra next at Nashville Superspeedway on April 22nd.

Climbing in the Truck Series Standings, Bodine and Crew Look Forward to Martinsville with Germain.com Tundra

  • Bodine is Third Driver in Truck Series History to Win Multiple Titles, and Clinch Early
  • Bodine Owns 21 Truck Series wins with Germain Racing and 36 NASCAR career wins
  • His career-best finish at Martinsville is 2nd (2007, 2009)

March 30, 2011 (Mooresville, N.C.) - As Martinsville Speedway gets its turn on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule this weekend, Todd Bodine and the No. 30 Germain.com Tundra team are looking forward to continuing to build on what they had at the Virginia short-track last fall when the Chemung, NY, native led 83 laps en route to a third-place finish.

“We finished third but we had a really good truck. I got out run on tires at the end—we had like 50 laps more on our tires than anybody. We understood that. It’s what we did to get track position and take a chance. We ran really well. It definitely helps this Germain.com Tundra team going back to Martinsville,” said Bodine.

The team seems to have the pieces put together. Bodine hopes this weekend could signal the end of Germain Racing’s nil in the win column in the short-track category.

“We’ve run well at Martinsville, just never got it done. The guys have done a great job putting a truck together that’s specific for Martinsville. Hopefully we can use it the best we can and finally get it done,” explained Bodine.

Bodine will race chassis GR-016. The truck is new to Germain Racing this year. It debuted in race number three as a No. 62 Tundra for teammate Gaughan.

“This week the guys have prepared GR-016 as the chassis for the No. 30 Germain.com Tundra. It will be our first time using the truck as a 30, but, we are confident it’s the best choice for the Martinsville race weekend. We learned a lot about Martinsville last fall, and certainly we hope to build on that this weekend,” said Hillman Jr.

Bodine has competed in 14 Truck Series events at Martinsville—he is one of many NASCAR drivers to have made their first career start at the track. This Saturday he’ll compete in his 169th Truck Series race when he fires up the Germain.com Tundra for the fourth race of the 2011 season. Bodine has 732 NASCAR career starts to date.

Watch Bodine in the No. 30 Germain.com Tundra on on Saturday, April 2nd, at Martinsville Speedway. The action starts on SPEED with practice airing at 2:00 PM ET on Friday. Bodine Gets Third with Germain.com Tundra at Darlington

Posted by lori in Valvoline , TRD , Toyota Tundra , Todd Bodine , Sherwin Williams , Samoa Artesian Water , Safety Kleen , Mike Hillman , Germain.com , Germain Racing , Germain Motor Company , Germain Columbus Ohio , Georgia Boot , GEICO , 2010 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion

Mooresville, N.C. (03-15-2011) – Returning to the winner’s circle at Darlington Raceway was clearly the priority of the No. 30 Germain.com Tundra team and Germain Racing driver Todd Bodine. The team unloaded a chassis that ranked eighth in first practice and fourth after final practice. From a qualifying position of 12th, Bodine set his sights on the front of the field and enjoyed the147-laps of Darlington’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race – with just a quick detour first.

“The truck was good. Unfortunately right there at the start, don’t really know what happened at the start of the race with the left front tire, but it was vibrating really bad so we elected to come in and change it. We had to start in the rear basically,” said Bodine of the unplanned pit stop too early in the night. “We had a great truck. The Germain.com Tundra did everything I needed it to do. That was a lot of fun racing like that. It was Darlington and she’s back --she’s tough underneath.”

Bodine says Darlington’s four year-old racing surface is slowly revealing some of the grit of years past, and the surface played into what was a very fun competition for the Truck Series drivers in Saturday’s race. Bodine faced a restart just three laps before the race was set to conclude. He was up against eventual race winner, Kasey Kahne, and veteran Truck Series racer and fellow champion, Ron Hornaday Jr.

“When you have a situation like that and the position I was in, running second, you want to win and you want to pass him. That’s what we’re all here for, but the way our season has been going, we had to get to the checkered flag. I gave it a shot and got sucked around, got loose and all that so we finished third. The main thing was just don’t wreck -- just don’t cause a wreck, don’t do something dumb. We’re all here being professionals trying to race and put on a show. We did and it was another great show in the Truck Series as usual. If you remember what I said earlier in the race day about the veterans and what’s going to happen at the end -- we were right there, the guys I said. Kasey (Kahne), Elliott (Sadler), Ron (Hornaday) and me. That’s typical Darlington,” said Bodine.

As excited as he was about the racing action and his team’s performance, Bodine was also beaming about Truck Series fans at Darlington.

“It was a great race. I am so happy for Darlington Raceway -- look at the crowd we got. This tells you what the Truck Series is about. These fans are hardcore, they came out here on a Saturday night just to watch trucks race,” smiled Bodine, who didn’t forget the folks watching SPEED at home, either. “Everybody at home -- we appreciate you watching. Trucks are the greatest race and I’m loving it.”

After three of 25 races, Bodine ranks seventh in the Truck Series points standings. Bodine races the No. 30 Tundra next at Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, VA, on April 2nd.

Bodine and Germain.com Team Are Anxious to Return to the Lady in Black to Defend Their Race Win

Posted by lori in Valvoline , TRD , Toyota Tundra , Todd Bodine , Sherwin Williams , Samoa Artesian Water , Safety Kleen , Mike Hillman , Germain.com , Germain Racing , Germain Motor Company , Georgia Boot , GEICO , 2010 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion

 - Bodine is the Reigning Truck Series Champion after earning his 2nd title in 2010

 - Bodine is Third Driver in Truck Series History to Win Multiple Titles, and Clinch Early

 - Bodine Owns 21 Truck Series wins with Germain Racing and 36 NASCAR career wins

 - He owns one Truck Series (2010) and one NNS win (2003) at Darlington Raceway

 - Last year’s win at Darlington was the third of four 2010 victories

March 9, 2011 (Mooresville, N.C.) - For the Germain.com Tundra team the old racing adage holds true—the most important race is the next one on the schedule. Darlington Raceway is next, and, it is important to the No. 30 team and Germain Racing driver Todd Bodine. Bodine led 47 of 147 laps last August to capture the victory in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series’ return to the track Too Tough to Tame.

“We won the race there last year in the Germain.com Tundra. I’ve always run well at Darlington in everything I’ve driven there, ever. I’ve got a win in our Toyota truck, a win in the Nationwide Series.  It’s a driver’s track that’s a lot of fun. It’s real technical. Hopefully I can give our teammates some pointers and help them speed up their learning curve a little,” said Bodine.

The No. 30 Germain.com Tundra will be chassis TRD-131. Before last weeks’ race at Phoenix, the truck had never finished outside the top-five and owned three of Germain Racing’s four 2010 wins. Crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. said he and his crew are anxious to see what their best Tundra will do in South Carolina.

"I wish we didn't have a weekend off before Darlington,” said Hillman Jr. “We are ready to defend our race win.  We are planning on returning to championship form after a slow start. Darlington is a place where the Germain.com Tundra team is definitely looking to get back on top."

After two of 25 races, Bodine ranks 12th in the Truck Series standings. This is unfamiliar territory for a team and driver that sat atop the standings for the majority of last year. The focus, however, is on overall team performance at Darlington.

“I hope that my biggest challengers at Darlington are my Germain Racing teammates. I hope we are 1, 2, 3, 4. Brendan, Max and Justin have all been to Darlington. There’s no reason they can’t be competitive. Darlington’s a very technical track with a lot of little things that can make you go fast. If there’s anything I can do to help them, I will do it,” said Bodine.

Bodine has competed in two Truck Series events at Darlington, both behind the wheel of the No. 30 Tundra. He has one win and one 20th place result. This Saturday night, he’ll compete in his 168th Truck Series race when he fires up the Germain.com Tundra for the third race of the 2011 season. Bodine has 730 NASCAR career starts to date.

Watch Bodine in the No. 30 Germain.com Tundra on Saturday, February 25th, at Darlington Raceway with coverage on SPEED starting with qualifying at 3:30 PM ET  followed by racing at 5 PM. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Georgia Boot, America’s Hardest Working Boot,
Aligns with Reigning Truck Series Champ Todd Bodine & Germain Racing for 2011

Mooresville, N.C. (March 2, 2011) - Germain Racing proudly announces a new team sponsorship for the 2011 season. The team has partnered with America’s Hardest Working Boot, Georgia Boot. The brand is a perfect match for Germain Racing’s strength and competitive reputation in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

“To have a company like Georgia Boot come on board with us is just a perfect fit. Germain Racing is the hardest working team in the Truck Series, I am absolutely convinced of this. Georgia Boot is made for the hardest working folks in America—the kind of people that have a work ethic strong enough that they could be part of our racing team,” said Todd Bodine, the two-time Truck Series champion who will sport the Georgia Boot paint scheme this season.

Georgia Boot has signed on as primary sponsor of the No. 30 Georgia Boot Tundra at Kentucky Speedway in July and the No. 30 Germain Racing team will proudly wear the Georgia Boot logo as an associate sponsor for the entire 2011 season.

“Georgia Boot is a sponsor that’s been in front of the Truck Series fans for years. They know that race fans love the Truck Series because it’s tough. It’s competitive.  It might be the best racing around.  We love the fact that Georgia Boot is headquartered in Central Ohio, just down the road from Germain Motor Company headquarters.  We are looking forward to having Georgia Boot on Todd's Tundra as he defends his Championship in 2011," said team owner Bob Germain Jr.

Earning back-to-back titles has proven an impossible feat in the Truck Series. In fact, only three drivers have earned more than one title, and Bodine is one of them.

We are excited to join forces with Germain Racing for the 2011 season. Todd Bodine and Germain Racing are great examples of consistency, performance, and a drive for excellence that make them a great fit for our brand. The team is coming off a winning season and we are excited to be a part of their quest to win it all this season. We look forward to supporting Todd and the team and look forward to a great year,” said Jared Oviatt, Georgia Boot vice president of sales.

Germain Racing is only the second team in Truck Series history to earn multiple wins in seven consecutive seasons. Germain Racing has 22 wins, nine pole awards and two championships. Germain.com Tundra Has Top-Five Performance with Top-15 Result in Phoenix

Posted by lori in Valvoline , TRD , Toyota Tundra , Todd Bodine , Sherwin Williams , Safety Kleen , Mike Hillman , Germaincars.com , Germain.com , Germain Racing , Germain Naples Florida , Germain Motor Company , Germain Columbus Ohio , GEICOgarage , GEICO Racing , GEICO , 2010 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion

Mooresville, N.C. (02-28-2011) – On Friday, the No. 30 Germain.com Tundra team unleashed a new chassis setup on their Toyota truck for driver Todd Bodine. The setup came as a result of off-season testing and it seemed to work very well. Bodine qualified in the seventh position and spent more than 110 laps of the 77th Annual Lucas Oil 150 running in or near that same spot.  Things changed for the team when the fifth caution of the night flew at lap 113 in the second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race of the season.

“We probably unloaded our best Germain.com Tundra at Phoenix in three or four years,” said crew chief Mike Hillman Jr.  “We had a great practice session, a good qualifying position and good pit stops. If we didn’t have the racing incident, we were a top-five truck.”

The Germain.com Tundra pit crew had some crash repair practice at the season opener in Daytona. At Phoenix, unfortunately, it was more of the same.

“We were able to bring the truck into the pits, get it repaired, and stay on the lead lap. The Germain.com Tundra took a pretty big hit, so, salvaging a 14th-place finish was a good result for us. We’re all looking ahead to Darlington,” said Hillman.

After two of 25 races, Bodine ranks 12th in the Truck Series points standings. Bodine races the No. 30 Tundra next at Darlington Raceway on March 12th, where they will be defending their 2010 victory at the track “Too Tough to Tame.”

Tire Kingdom Camry Nets Top-20 Finish at Daytona

Posted by lori in Valvoline , TRD , Toyota Camry , Tire Kingdom , Sherwin Williams , Safety Kleen , Mike Hillman , Germaincars.com , Germain.com , Germain Racing , Germain Naples Florida , Germain Motor Company , Germain Columbus Ohio , 2010 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion

Mooresville, N.C. (02-19-2011) – Saturday afternoon, Germain Racing driver Todd Bodine put the No. 30 Tire Kingdom Camry on the grid for the 30Th Annual Drive4copd 300 at Daytona International Speedway. After qualifying 36th for the 43-car field, Bodine showed in a few laps that the starting spot was temporary. He was 22nd in ten laps and 15th after 20. Bodine has earned two victories at Daytona in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and he’s earned 15 wins in NASCAR’s second-ranked national division.

“The Tire Kingdom Camry was handling good today. We adjusted a little bit on the car to free it up in the corners, but that was about it,” said Bodine.

Saturday’s race was a 120 lap event, and with less than 15 laps remaining, it seemed that Bodine’s patience in hanging in and around the top-ten for the majority of the event was lined up to pay off. Instead, that patience was thrown a penalty flag as Bodine became part of the final caution of the race at lap 106.

“That’s just Daytona. Sometimes the hard work, long hours and research from the off-season pays off when you get here. Other times, it ends up in the fence,” said Mike Hillman Jr., who called the race for Bodine and serves as his crew chief in the Truck Series. “We have really enjoyed working with the folks at Tire Kingdom to put this Daytona weekend together. We are looking forward to another opportunity in the future to get them back to the track with us again soon.”

Bodine finished Saturday’s race in 18th-place. It was the first time the two-time Truck Series champion had raced in the NNS at Daytona since 2003.

Tire Kingdom Tundra Takes Two Big Hits at Daytona

Posted by lori in Valvoline , TRD , Toyota Tundra , Todd Bodine , Tire Kingdom , Sherwin Williams , Safety Kleen , Mike Hillman , Germaincars.com , Germain.com , Germain Racing , Germain Naples Florida , Germain Motor Company , Germain Columbus Ohio , GEICOgarage , GEICO Racing , GEICO , 2010 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion

Mooresville, N.C. (02-19-2011) – Friday night, under the lights at Daytona International Speedway, Todd Bodine fired up the No. 30 Tire Kingdom Tundra for its maiden voyage. The sponsor is new to Germain Racing and the team was geared up to give Tire Kingdom a great night in the season opener for the 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Unfortunately, the luck that had been so keenly on the side of Bodine and the No. 30 team at Daytona seemed to have run out. The No. 30 Tire Kingdom Tundra had a starring roll in two big crashes in the 100-lap event that resulted in a 23rd-place finish, four laps shy of the scheduled race distance.

“It’s not how we wanted to start this relationship with Tire Kingdom and Service Center or how we wanted to start the season with Valvoline. They’ve been a great sponsor for our team,” said Bodine who hadn’t finished worse than fifth in Trucks at Daytona prior to Friday night. “We’ll come back again, we’ll get them at Phoenix. It’s a new points system, so we’ll see how it shakes out.”

After the first crash, the Tire Kingdom pit crew did a repair job that should make the Service Center crowd cheer. The No. 30 Tire Kingdom Tundra suffered several hits to the nose and rear of the truck, but was able to go back on track and even work back toward the front of the field.

“Never give up is not just a saying for our pit crew, it’s truly how we feel. If the Tundra is still running, and has all four wheels on the ground, we’ll do whatever it takes to get the truck back out on the race track,” said crew chief Mike Hillman Jr.

Just before the SPEED broadcast booth announcers were marveling that there were only five race trucks left late in the race that had not yet been crashed, they were commenting on how aggravating it had to be to watch the beat up Tire Kingdom Tundra passing your truck, if you were one of the undamaged vehicles left in the fray.

“Our driver doesn’t quit until we tell him there’s no way the truck is safe to race. We put the Tire Kingdom Tundra back on track, and Todd did the best he could with it,” said Hillman Jr.

“It took two crashes today to finish us off. Travis had a tire go down and we had no where to go. At the end, there, it was just a big mess. It was good tight racing tonight, but the finish certainly isn’t what we’d like to have seen for our Tire Kingdom Toyota Tundra,” said Bodine.

Mooresville, N.C. (February 18, 2010) - Germain Racing driver and reigning NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Todd Bodine is giving Tire Kingdom as well as team sponsor Valvoline double exposure in Daytona this weekend. Bodine races the No. 30 Tire Kingdom Tundra tonight at Daytona International Speedway and tomorrow he will compete in his 12th race in NASCAR’s number two series at the famous race track behind the wheel of the No. 15 Tire Kingdom Camry.

“Tire Kingdom has been in racing -- they do a lot of other things in NHRA and drag racing, and they partnered with Valvoline to come up with this program for Speed Weeks. We’re really proud to be able to be with them in NASCAR. Hopefully we can grow the program and make it bigger and better down the line,” said Bodine, who scored a victory sporting the Valvoline logo last season in the Truck Series at Texas Motor Speedway.

Germain Racing and Bodine were hoping to make it a trifecta weekend for Tire Kingdom’s debut run with the team, but Bodine was caught up in a late race crash in the Gatorade Duels on Thursday afternoon which spoiled his bid for a spot in the Daytona 500 starting lineup. Still the driver affectionately known as “The Onion” will do his best to make the competition cry and the fans cheer wildly on two different broadcast networks this weekend at Daytona.

Watch Bodine on ESPN2 on Friday at 4:00 PM ET as he qualifies the No. 15 Tire Kingdom Camry for Saturday’s race which airs on ESPN2 at 1:00 PM ET.

On SPEED, watch Bodine in the No. 30 Tire Kingdom Tundra on Friday, February 18th, at Daytona International Speedway on SPEED with race coverage beginning at 7:30 PM Eastern. Or, tune your radio to your local MRN affiliate.
