MEARS AND GEICO TEAM ON RIGHT TRACK WITH FONTANA FINISH

Fontana, CA (March 25, 2012) – Coming off of a Top 25 finish in Bristol, Casey Mears and the GEICO team viewed Fontana as a way to continue building both their new Ford program and their status in the Top 35 in the owner point standings.  Germain Racing entered this weekend 33rd in the standings and with Martinsville being the first race based on 2012 owner points, it was critical for Mears and the #13 GEICO Ford Fusion to post a solid finish in Fontana.

The weekend started off rough with Mears 29th in the first practice and later posting a qualifying effort of 33rd.  Final practice on Saturday saw a change of fortune when Mears and the #13 GEICO Ford Fusion jumped from 30th on the chart to 17th, where they ultimately concluded the session.  Crew chief Bootie Barker made changes to the GEICO car that filled Mears and his teammates with optimism.

Although inclement weather loomed over southern California on Sunday, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series took the green flag at the advertised start time.  Rolling off the grid from 33rd, Mears and the #13 GEICO Fusion began their ascent through the field and quickly picked up nine positions in the first seven laps.

Mears cracked the Top 20 and then made his first scheduled green flag pit stop of the day on Lap 34.  After his GEICO pit crew outfitted him with four fresh Goodyear tires and a full tank of Sunoco racing fuel, Mears rejoined the race and ran solidly in the 23rd position until he reported a flat left front tire on Lap 55.  He quickly directed the #13 GEICO Fusion down pit road where his pit crew provided him with four new tires and returned him to the racing surface two laps down in the 35th position.

Mears quickly began to make up ground and by Lap 68 had returned to the Top 25 before nipping at the Top 20 on Lap 70.  Barker radioed to Mears: “You’re doing great, Casey.  Those are Top 10 lap times you’re running.”  Lap 105 saw Mears recover a lap and sit in the Lucky Dog position as weather threatened the area.  While running in the 22nd position on Lap 123, Mears reported to Barker: “It’s raining pretty hard in turns three and four.”  The caution flag waved for rain on Lap 124.  Getting close on fuel, Barker ordered the #13 GEICO Fusion down pit road for service.  Joined by several other cars, including his close friend Jimmie Johnson, Mears quickly took on four tires and fuel before returning to the track in the 23rd position.  A subsequent red flag sent the field to pit road as rain blanketed the two-mile D-shaped oval.

A short time later, NASCAR announced that the race was officially over with just 71 laps remaining.  In a display of unwavering resiliency, Mears and his GEICO team recorded a 23rd place finish after a noble recovery from an early race flat tire.  Their finish accounts for their third Top 25 of a young 2012 season.  Also, after entering Fontana 33rd in the owner point standings, Germain Racing exited SoCal sitting 29th.

“It feels great to have horsepower in this #13 GEICO Ford Fusion and this is probably the best intermediate car we’ve had this year,” Mears said with his trademark grin.  “When I hit the gas pedal it goes and there is nothing that feels better.  We had a setback early on with the flat tire, but we were able to hustle and get back towards the front.  I really believe that if the race would’ve went back to green, we could’ve challenged the Top 10 and maybe the Top 5.”  He continued, “We’re definitely on the right track and now we’re right in the mix with the big teams.  We’re excited to get to Martinsville and then to Texas.”

Next week, Mears and his GEICO team go short track racing when they visit the ½-mile paperclip-shaped oval of Martinsville, VA.

Mears and the #13 GEICO Ford Fusion will hit the track at Martinsville Speedway for the opening practice session on Friday, March 30th, at 12:30 PM (EDT).  Qualifying will follow on Saturday, March 31st, at 11:40 AM (EDT).

The Goody’s Fast Relief 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race is on Sunday, April 1st, and it will be televised live on FOX beginning at 12:30 PM (EDT).  The Motor Racing Network (MRN) will carry the live radio broadcast.

Bristol Post-race Recap

Posted by lori in Untagged

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MEARS AND THE GECKO REDEEM THEMSELVES WITH TOP 25 AT BRISTOL

Bristol, TN (March 18, 2012) – As the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series descended upon Bristol Motor Speedway for the fourth race of the 2012 season, Casey Mears and the Germain Racing team were looking to seek redemption after tough breaks in each of the first three races derailed the team’s efforts.

While the official race results would indicate otherwise, Germain Racing’s improvement has not gone unnoticed.  Mears and the GEICO team qualified fifth for the Daytona 500, were making quick work of the field in Phoenix and, just a week ago, were running lap times consistent with the leader.  Unfortunately, in all three cases, misfortune darted their hopes for good finishes.  Despite the setbacks, everyone from media members to other teams in the garage has taken notice of the ‘new and improved’ Germain Racing.

Bristol offered Mears the opportunity to hit ‘reset’ and get his season started.  When qualifying got underway on Friday afternoon, Mears and the #13 GEICO Ford Fusion toured the World’s Fastest Half-Mile in just 15.547 seconds, landing him 24th on the Food City 500 starting grid.  A year ago, Mears and the GEICO team qualified 43rd at the Bristol spring race, so his lap on Friday also served as further confirmation of the drastic improvement the team has experienced from the previous season.

When the rain cleared on Sunday morning and the green flag waved, Casey Mears settled in for 500 laps of racing.  While the team was able to finish the race and record their second Top 25 finish of the season, the day did not come without its challenges.  Mears jumped as high as 19th on lap 24, but spent the majority of the afternoon battling his racecar.  The #13 GEICO Ford Fusion was hard to turn and Mears voiced his frustration clearly over the team’s radio frequency.  He would slide up and down the scoring chart throughout the race and ultimately record a 25th place finish when the checkered flag ended an afternoon of racing in Bristol.

“Obviously, I’m glad we finished the race and I’m glad we got a Top 25, but we’re better than that,” Mears said standing next to his GEICO machine after the race.  “We’re working hard to gain ground and get this #13 GEICO Ford where it needs to be, but I’ve been out here ten years and I know this team is good, so it gets frustrating when we’re out there running 25th.  We’ll get it figured out and when we do, I have no doubt we’ll be running up front.”  He continued, “I appreciate the commitment from GEICO and from Germain Racing.  We have a solid program and it won’t be long until you see the results of our hard work.”

Next week, the Germain Racing team will head back out west for race number five of the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season.  Mears and his #13 GEICO Ford Fusion will hit the track in Fontana, CA, for the opening practice session on Friday, March 23rd, at 3:00 PM (ET).  Qualifying will follow at 7:10 PM (ET).

The Auto Club 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race is on Sunday, March 25th, and it will be televised live on FOX beginning at 2:30 PM (ET).  The Motor Racing Network (MRN) will carry the live radio broadcast.

Associate Sponsor Added for Daytona to GEICO Ford Fusion

Posted by lori in Untagged

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MEARS ADDS B’LASTER CORP. AS ASSOCIATE SPONSOR FOR DAYTONA 500

Daytona Beach, FL (February 22, 2012) – Just three days removed from recording a top five qualifying effort, Casey Mears and Germain Racing announced a new sponsor, B’laster Corp., one of the world’s leading retail automotive manufacturing companies.  B’laster Corp. will join the team as an associate sponsor for the 2012 Daytona 500 on the #13 GEICO Ford Fusion.

For over 50 years, B’laster has manufactured penetrants, lubricants, rust inhibitors and a full line of specialty, highly concentrated formulas for the automotive, industrial and hardware industries.  Their motto of ‘Nothing moves faster than Blaster’ will integrate well into the Germain Racing program with its newfound horsepower and speed.

Casey Mears, one of the biggest names in auto racing, is excited to team with B’laster, a leader in its own field.

“This is great news and I’m really looking forward to having B’laster Corp. with us in Daytona,” Mears said.  “B’laster is known for being the best and it’s hard to find a mechanic or handyman who’s not familiar with their products.  We have such a great partner in GEICO and it’s nice to have great associate sponsors like B’laster that further support our effort.  Our 2012 season is off to a great start and I’m glad B’laster has jumped on board and is helping to keep the momentum going.”

The racing gods seem to be smiling down upon Mears and the Germain Racing team, who just a month ago announced a sponsorship extension through 2014 with longtime partner GEICO.  While last year’s Duel 150’s delivered a devastating blow to Mears when his engine expired within the first few laps of the race, not all of his 2011 memories of Daytona are bad.  On July 2, 2011, Mears charged to the front of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series field and found himself as the race leader of the Coke Zero 400 on two different occasions.

B’laster Corp. will get to enjoy the spotlight with Mears when he rolls off from the outside pole (second) in Thursday’s Gatorade Duel #2.  They will also take comfort in the fact that the #13 GEICO Ford Fusion has a guaranteed starting spot in the 2012 Daytona 500.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series’ Gatorade Duel 150’s will be live on SPEED starting at 1 PM (ET) on Thursday, February 23rd, with the Motor Racing Network (MRN) carrying live radio coverage.

The Daytona 500 will be televised live on FOX beginning at noon (ET) on Sunday, February 26th, and the Motor Racing Network (MRN) will once again carry the live radio broadcast.

About The B’laster Corporation: B’laster Corp. is a leader in retail automotive products manufacturing and has a decades-long history of providing chemical solutions to tough maintenance problems.  From a bolt that’s too rusty to turn, to a trailer door that squeaks when it moves, B’laster Corp. has a product that can help. For over 50 years, the family-owned company remains a leader in the industry and continues to introduce new, innovative products to the market.  To learn more about B’laster, please visit: www.blastercorporation.com

GEICO Ford Fusion Logs Top-5 Qualifying Effort at Daytona

Posted by lori in Untagged

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MEARS AND GEICO TEAM NET TOP 5 IN DAYTONA QUALIFYING

Daytona Beach, FL (February 19, 2012) – What a difference a year makes.  In February 2011’s Duel 150’s, smoke billowed from the rear of Casey Mears’ #13 GEICO car and with it blew up Germain Racing’s Daytona 500 hopes.

That was then… this is now.

Casey Mears and his Germain Racing team rolled into Daytona International Speedway last week with a new engine package, new manufacturer, new paint scheme and a contract extension from their sponsor, GEICO.  While other teams most likely put little thought into the #13 team and its prospects, the crew of the GEICO Ford Fusion possessed a quiet confidence that this year would be different; that it would be special.  They intently went about their work in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series garage bookended by Hendrick Motorsports teams, and showed little concern after Mears ended up 31st in the opening practice session on Saturday.

Mears returned to the track for the series’ second practice session and quickly shot to third on the board, before winding up 17th at its conclusion.  A considerable improvement from the opening session, Mears indicated to people within earshot that the team left some speed on the table.  He also wore his patented grin when considering the upcoming qualifying session with his crew chief, Bootie Barker.

Mears and the #13 GEICO Ford Fusion were slated as the fourth team to make a qualifying attempt on Sunday afternoon.  Amid gusty winds, he quickly took to the high-banked racetrack with an unrelenting sense of urgency, pacing the 2.5-mile facility in just 46.429 seconds, at a rate of speed of 193.844 miles per hour.  Mears’ qualifying effort placed him fifth on the final speed chart; a far cry from the heartbreak he and his team experienced a year ago and it also affords him a premium starting position (second) in Thursday’s Gatorade Duel 150’s.

Ford would also go on to enjoy its own success, netting four of the top five positions in today’s qualifying session.

“This is a great day for our Germain Racing team, our sponsor GEICO and also for Ford,” Mears said.  “But, honestly, we’ve worked really hard in the off-season and this team has made tremendous sacrifices, so it’s not totally unexpected.  It’s a great way to start the season, especially in our first outing in a Ford and with Roush Yates power; can’t thank those guys enough.  It’s also nice to be able to reward GEICO for their loyal support of our team.  Thursday will be exciting, so we’ll see how it all shakes out.”

Next up for the Germain Racing team is the Gatorade Duel 150’s on Thursday, February 23rd.  Mears and the #13 GEICO Ford Fusion will roll off the starting grid from the outside pole in Duel #2.  The Gatorade Duel 150’s will be broadcast live on SPEED starting at 1 PM (ET), with the Motor Racing Network (MRN) carrying live radio coverage.

Mears Anxious for Daytona

Posted by lori in Untagged

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RESTLESS MEARS EAGER FOR DAYTONA

Mooresville, NC (February 3, 2012) – Casey Mears is coming off of a season that saw him put the Germain Racing team and the GEICO car comfortably in the Top 35 in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Owner Point standings.  While this feat indicates exponential improvement for a virtual upstart Sprint Cup Series team, it also serves as a ticket to the 2012 Daytona 500.  Mears has experienced considerable success in the past at Daytona International Speedway, including a July 2011 race that found him as the leader on two different occasions, but it has been since 2009 that he has started a Daytona 500.

This year, Mears enters the season as the undisputed driver of Germain Racing’s Sprint Cup Series entry, and also rolls into Daytona with a new paint scheme, a new manufacturer in Ford and a sponsorship extension that will see GEICO adorning the hood of the #13 Ford Fusion through 2014.  Two engine failures in two days sent Mears and his Germain Racing team packing in 2011, but they are guaranteed a starting position for this year’s 500-mile race.

The stars are aligned and Mears is eager to hit the track on February 18th for the opening practice session.

He has attempted to escape the madness and seek refuge everywhere from Phoenix to Aspen to the country of Mexico.  But, it is to no avail.  He cannot clear his mind of what he felt at the Daytona test in January; the horsepower that rumbled beneath him during his first days in the new #13 GEICO Ford Fusion.  Just a week ago, Mears’ sponsor GEICO held a television commercial production at the Germain Racing shop in Mooresville, NC, and the energy was evident.  The team and its driver frequently commented on their desire to move quickly through the month of February and get to Daytona.

“I am tired of twiddling of my thumbs, I can only do it for so long,” Mears said.  “We’re very excited about our new relationship with Ford and having Roush-Yates power, and it gave us a boost in confidence when GEICO announced their extension.  It’s a totally different atmosphere around here and the new blue and green paint scheme has freshened everything up and gave us the chance to relaunch our program.  It’s hard to hide my excitement and I’m sure Trisha (wife) and other people close to me are starting to get tired of hearing me talk about it.  We’re going to be fast and I’m counting the days until first practice.”

NEW YEAR BRINGS NEW DEAL FOR CASEY MEARS AND GEICO TEAM

Posted by lori in Untagged

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEW YEAR BRINGS NEW DEAL FOR CASEY MEARS AND GEICO TEAM

Mooresville, NC (January 6, 2012) – It will not be long before Casey Mears and his GEICO Racing team arrive at Daytona International Speedway for the beginning of the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season.  While the series as a whole has enjoyed a winter break, Germain Racing has been working feverishly to build upon the success that the team experienced in 2011.

No sooner than the checkered flag waved at Homestead in November, GEICO agreed to a sponsorship extension that will see the Gecko adorning the hood of the #13 Germain Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup Series entry through at least the 2014 season.  GEICO coupled the extension with an increase in involvement, ramping up the number of primary races at which they will serve as the primary sponsor.  Thinking along the lines of continuity, team owner Bob Germain subsequently extended Mears’ contract, while also retaining crew chief Bootie Barker, who will continue to call the shots for Mears and the GEICO team.

Aside from the excitement of securing GEICO as a long-term partner, Germain Racing recently became part of the Ford Racing family and will have Roush-Yates FR9 engines powering their #13 GEICO Ford Fusion beginning with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series test at Daytona on January 12th.

When the #13 GEICO Ford Fusion rolls off of the truck for Daytona 500 practice in February, NASCAR fans will be met with a new, exciting paint scheme that will serve as a re-launching of sorts of the GEICO NASCAR Sprint Cup Series program.  For most of the previous eleven years, GEICO racecars have featured some variation of the color red, but beginning in 2012, Mears will pilot a car that features the lively color combination of blue and white with green accents.

A usually reserved Mears hinted at excitement when asked about the upcoming season.

“This type of news is always good, especially when we as a team know that we’ll have some stability moving forward and we can focus 100% of our efforts on improving our performance,” Mears said.  “GEICO is such an incredible, loyal sponsor and I can’t thank them enough for their unconditional support of our team.  I appreciate all of the hard work and effort of Bob Germain and everyone in this organization.  I’m really looking forward to seeing what this Germain Racing team will do in 2012, especially as we move forward with Roush-Yates power.”

Germain Racing Joins Ford Racing Family in 2012

Posted by lori in Untagged

For Immediate Release

Germain Racing Joins Ford Racing Family for 2012

Mooresville, NC (January 6, 2012) – Germain Racing, owned by Bob Germain Jr., announces today they will join the Ford Racing family for the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. The team’s move to Ford means their No. 13 GEICO entry will become the No. 13 GEICO Ford Fusion.  Germain explains that the move is well in line with long-term Germain family relationships.

“The Germain's have a long history with Ford Motor Company. My grandfather worked with Henry Ford as an accountant and my father worked as a guide in the Henry Ford Museum. Our family currently owns and operates both Ford and Lincoln dealerships and we have many friends at Ford Motor Company. I'm excited to join the Ford Racing team,” said Germain.

Ford Racing has been competing for more than 110 years. That adds a significant amount of experience to Germain Racing’s seven-year tenure in the NASCAR community. Germain Racing has secured two NASCAR championship titles and 22 victories over the years. In 2012, the team is focused on getting top finishes with their GEICO Fusion program.

“Germain Racing is focused on getting strong results for our GEICO Fusion program. Heading into NASCAR’s first season of electronic fuel injection, we are extremely confident in the technology and engines from Roush & Yates Racing Engines that we will race this season,” said Germain, whose team has services agreements with Roush & Yates Racing Engines and Roush Fenway Racing for the coming year.

Germain Racing will again feature the talent of driver Casey Mears behind the wheel of the No. 13 GEICO Fusion entry. Mears joined Germain in 2010.

Mears Preview: Homestead-Miami Speedway

Posted by lori in Untagged

Mears Racing for Florida-based Hard Rock Vodka in 2011 Season Finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway

 · Mears led more laps at Homestead-Miami Speedway than any other Sprint Cup Series track

· Joined Germain Racing last August and pilots the No. 13 Camry

· Crew chief Bootie Barker calls shots for Mears

Mooresville, N.C. (November 15, 2011) - Germain Racing is closing out the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season by premiering a fresh sponsorship relationship. Driver Casey Mears will pilot the No. 13 Hard Rock Vodka Camry at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the season finale on Sunday, November 20th. This will be the first time the No. 13 Camry has raced in colors other than those of long-time primary sponsor GEICO.

“Obviously it’s very exciting to have a sponsor like Hard Rock Vodka come on board our No. 13 Camry for the Homestead-Miami Speedway race. GEICO remains our primary sponsor for 2012 but we’d certainly like to see the Hard Rock Vodka Camry race again for a number of the open weekends on next season’s schedule,” explained Mears, who has competed in eight Sprint Cup Series events at Homestead. “This team has built a lot of momentum in the last few weeks and we hope to carry that into Homestead for a great weekend with the Hard Rock Vodka Camry.”

Crew chief Bootie Barker has prepared chassis 702 for Mears for Homestead competition. The Florida race will be the second event for the fresh Camry chassis.

“This race car is new to our fleet. We ran it at Texas and liked the characteristics we saw. It is a different chassis design than we’ve had in the past and it is truly a joint effort between Michael Waltrip Racing and Germain Racing that went into the build of this race car,” said Barker.

Hard Rock Vodka, launched this summer by Ultimate Beverages of Boca Raton, FL, is a new sponsor in the NASCAR ranks. O.B. Osceola, co-founder, explains that the NASCAR fan base really is the perfect audience for Hard Rock Vodka.

“Hard Rock Vodka has been enjoying a great launch this year. In setting up the product at retail partners such as ABC, Crown, Discount Liquors and several others, what we’ve come to realize is that Hard Rock Vodka is a perfect fit for marketing to the NASCAR fan base. The product is based out of Florida, so putting Hard Rock Vodka on Germain Racing’s No. 13 Camry at Homestead-Miami Speedway was a great opportunity to showcase the brand this season,” explained Osceola, who also encourages fans to enjoy Hard Rock Vodka responsibly.

Gaughan Preview: No. 62 Tire Kingdom/Service Central Tundra - Homestead

Posted by lori in Untagged

Gaughan Racing Tire Kingdom/Service Central Tundra in Season Finale at Homestead

Gaughan drives the No. 62 Tundra for Germain Racing

He is an 8-time winner in the Truck Series

Gaughan has earned one runner-up finish at Homestead and has led two races

Mooresville, N.C. (Nov. 16, 2011) - For the second time this season, Brendan Gaughan will carry the red-white-blue paint scheme, this time with Tire Kingdom on the hood of the No. 62 Tire Kingdom/Service Central Tundra. Gaughan’s entry last sported a similar scheme for Big O Tires in Las Vegas this season.

“I’m excited about getting to Homestead with the momentum this team has built in the last few weeks. We hope to finish off the year strong with the No. 62 Tire Kingdom/Service Central Tundra,” said Gaughan.

Gaughan, who first raced off-road before making the jump into the oval circuits of NASCAR, enjoys racing on the intermediate, or 1.5-mile race tracks. While many are “D-shaped” tracks, Homestead is unique.

“One thing about Homestead is that it’s not like any other mile and a half track on the circuit. There’s no dog-leg, so the corner entry and exit is different than any other intermediate track we race,” explained Gaughan. “Homestead is a fun track. The racing groove has really opened up a lot. You can run around the top, bottom, or middle. It gives the driver and the crew chief a lot of options for chassis setup and chassis adjustments.”

Friday’s race will be broadcast live from Homestead-Miami Speedway on SPEED, MRN Radio and Sirius-XM NASCAR Radio, channel 90, on Friday night. SPEED kicks off its pre-race coverage at 7:30 p.m. EST, and MRN Radio will begin its live broadcast at 7:45 p.m. EST on Friday, November 18. SPEED will also carry live broadcasts of final practice (11 a.m. EST) and qualifying (4:30 p.m. EST) on Friday.

Germain Racing has earned two championship titles in the Truck Series. The Toyota team owns 22 victories and 9 pole awards in the series that continues to grow ratings on SPEED. For more information on Germain Racing, visit www.GermainRacing.com or follow the team on Twitter @GermainRacing.

Brendan Gaughan holds eight Truck Series victories to go along with his two K&N Pro Series West championship titles. Follow Gaughan at www.BrendanGaughan.com or on Twitter @Brendan62.

No. 5 International Trucks/Monaco RVs Toyota Tundra News and Notes:

  • This Week’s Tundra… The No. 5 International Trucks/Monaco RVs team and Germain Racing driver Todd Bodine will utilize TRD-092 in Friday’s 134-lap NCWTS race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.  Chassis TRD-092 is a freshly rebuilt truck from the Germain Racing stable, and Mike Hillman Jr. will once again be atop the pit box calling the shots for the defending series champion as this marks the 15th race of a collaborative effort between Germain Racing and Randy Moss Motorsports to field the No. 5 Tundra.  Bodine has finished no worse than 13th in those 14 previous races, with an average finish of 8.9.

  • Track Stats… Bodine is the only repeat winner at HMS in the series’ 15 races, leading all active drivers with two wins his seventh and 15th of 21 career Camping World Truck Series victories.  Bodine has also accrued the most points of any driver in the three previous truck series races at HMS (510 points).  In total, Bodine has four top-five and four top-10 finishes in six NCWTS starts at Homestead-Miami Speedway.  In addition to his Truck Series statistics, Bodine has 12 Nationwide Series starts and four Cup Series starts at HMS.

  • Closing the Gap… Bodine has not finished outside of the top four in the final truck series point standings since he began competing full-time in the series in 2005.  With his 12th-place finish last race at Texas Motor Speedway, Bodine maintained his sixth-place standing in the driver points and is 21 points behind fifth-place Timothy Peters and 31 points out of the top four entering the season finale at HMS.

  • Watch and Listen… The Ford 200 from Homestead-Miami Speedway will be broadcast live on SPEED, MRN Radio and Sirius-XM NASCAR Radio, channel 90, on Friday night.

Todd Bodine on Homestead-Miami Speedway:

“We plan to go to Homestead and do the best we can. We’re taking a newly rebuilt race truck and that shows we haven’t given up. We’re looking to get the best finish we can get with our International Trucks/Monaco RVs Tundra.”

“International has been a big supporter of our sport for a long time. To be able to represent them has been great. They’ve been awesome people to work with. I wish we could’ve gotten them a win by now but hopefully we can get it done this week at Homestead.”

Crew Chief Mike Hillman Jr. on setting up the race truck for Homestead-Miami Speedway:

“Setting up for Homestead, with so many available racing grooves, a lot of it is getting there and understanding which line your driver is most comfortable racing. From there, you have to make your truck handle right, and build in enough adjustments that you can adapt your truck throughout the race. We’re taking what’s really a fresh race truck to Homestead. The chassis is one we haven’t raced in a while, but we’ve done a big rebuild on it and we’re hoping it will be very fast as the International Trucks/Monaco RVs Tundra at Homestead.”
