Darlington Raceway is one of the more unusual tracks on the NASCAR circuit. The 1.366-mile egg-shaped oval has been repaved in recent years, but the personality of the track referred to as "too tough to tame" never faded with the fresh pavement.Ā

DarlingtonĀ is also known as the "Lady in Black" because of the popular phenoman of race cars frequently finding their way to the retaining walls. There they "earn" a "Darlington stripe," which is a combination of the paint from the retaining wall transferring to the race car or race truck along with the subsequent dents and scrapes from the contact. An earned stripe doesn't necessarily disable a race car or truck, but, it can.

While the race cars and trucks get stripes, so, too do the retaining walls of the historical track. As the race weekends progress, the walls of Darlington get littered with black stripes - the track transforms into the Lady in Black...until the maintenance crew gets out the white paint for touchup work.

Germain Racing is proud to own a trip to victory lane at Darlington Raceway in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series division.
