Zach Germain, 25, is a native of Columbus, OH. To prepare for his debut season in NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, Zach moved into a one-room efficiency at Germain Racing’s headquarters in Mooresville, N.C. The graduate of Miami University of Ohio gave up hometown comforts such as friends, life with his parents, Steve and Kim Germain, and his siblings Jessica and Austin, in exchange for a real-time, hands-on education in building race cars, running a race team and learning the subtle tricks needed to continue to develop as a race car driver.
As a teen and young adult, Zach spent countless hours learning the family’s primary business of selling automobiles. Steve Germain, Zach’s father, is president of Germain Motor Company, a Top-25 automotive dealership network with over 60 years experience in the automotive retail industry. While Zach definitely enjoys the automotive retail business, his passion lies in another family venture - Germain Racing. Germain brothers Steve, Bob and Rick formed the team in 2004 and the championship winning race team now operates in each of NASCAR’s three national series as well as the K&N Pro Series East.
At 21, Zach kicked off his racing career by stepping into a Legends race car. That experience saw the young driver progress into the Super Late Model division - a move that progressed into what has become a NASCAR racing career.
Germain continues to work at the race shop as a crew member on the No. 24 Germain.com Camry and enjoy the wealth of experience and expertise available to him at Germain Racing. Zach and the No. 24 team plan to compete in the full 2011 K&N Pro Series East schedule and may add KNPSW, late model, ARCA or Truck Series events to this year’s schedule.
